Fieldwork/School Update! :)

Good news!

Hello friends and family!

I am excited to share that the Lord has opened the door to a fieldwork placement this fall! I will be at a psychiatric hospital here in Virginia, and I start Tuesday, October 3rd! If all goes well, I will be finished by Thanksgiving and will officially graduate with my degree this December. YAY!

Unfortunately, the hospital is not within commuting distance, but they offer students free housing which is such a blessing! I plan to live there during the week and come home on the weekends.

Two occupational therapists will be tag-teaming as my supervisors. I think this will be a blessing and will provide me with the opportunity to observe two different styles of treatment! I also found out that my fieldwork coordinator (who had one of her own fieldwork rotations at this very same hospital 31 years ago!) had one of my supervising OTs as a fieldwork student in the past! It’s a small world. :)
